Lana R. Swingler, Of Counsel

Lana Swingler was admitted to the Bar in 1982. She is licensed to practice in the State of Indiana and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Indiana. She graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Indiana University, where she was an Associate Editor of the Indiana Law Review.

Ms. Swingler worked at an insurance defense firm for several years, eventually becoming a name partner.  She concentrates her practice in the area of insurance law and probate with a particular emphasis on the court approval of settlements of minors’ claims for personal injury, court approval of wrongful death settlements, court approval of settlements of adult incompetents’ claims and probating the payment of death benefits coverage on automobile policies. Her practice also includes the areas of administration of small estates, guardianships and special needs trusts. Ms. Swingler regularly conducts seminars on the requirements of Indiana law as it relates to probate settlements and other issues associated with the court approval of settlements.

Ms. Swingler has been certified as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council in partnership with the Women's Business Enterprise Council-Great Lakes.

Ms. Swingler is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Associations.
